KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - Prosser’s city administrator has been placed on paid leave.

The Tri-City Herald reports that it’s unclear why David Stockdale was placed on leave Tuesday night.

Howard Saxton, the city’s contracted attorney, said an internal investigation is under way. Saxton said he couldn’t comment on the reasons for the leave and would not say if the decision followed a closed-door executive session of the City Council.

Stockdale was chosen as Prosser’s city administrator in January 2016. He was working as an analyst in Oregon’s Lane County when he was hired. It was his first job as a city administrator.

The city budget says Stockdale’s salary this year is $117,600 plus about $44,000 in benefits.
