Everyone seemed to have an opinion about Kanye West spreading the MAGA love Wednesday in an exchange tweets with President Trump. Even Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson chimed in on the pop-culture and political story of the moment.

Speaking with me on WMAL radio in Washington DC Secretary Carson said, “I am thrilled to see someone like him have the courage… because it takes a lot of courage to go against the grain and have people say horrible things about you.”

Carson even suggested that West may go down in history for his “greatness:”

“When you look down through history, great people are seldom appreciated during a time when they are alive, only later on. I appreciate the fact that he is willing to come out and take that stand. I hope others will to and begin to recognize what we want to do is empower people.”
