One of the less favorable comparisons Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield has drawn during the draft process is Johnny Manziel. But a few people have also seen parallels between Mayfield and Brett Favre.

That may or may not have been on Mayfield’s mind when he had the idea to recreate this draft day photo of Favre and post it to social media:

The post includes the caption, “There are those people who are in your corner no matter what, you can’t do any wrong, even when you do wrong. And then there are those people that no matter what you do they’re going to dislike you and that’s not going to change.”

Mayfield has always had his detractors, and he seems to have come to accept that he will not please everybody with his career.

Mayfield is projected to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board, with recent rumors indicating he might even be the No. 1 overall selection by the Cleveland Browns.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer pointed out something former Washington Redskins general manager Scot McCloughan said:

The 2018 NFL Draft starts Thursday at 8 p.m., held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
