FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) - Court records show a Virginia fraternity member is facing charges of distributing LSD to a student who later crashed through a dorm window and fell to his death.
The Washington Post reports that 19-year-old Alejandro Porrata is set to go to trial in May.
He’s charged with supplying the hallucinogenic drug to 19-year-old Tristan Tanner Medina last year three days before Medina’s death. Both were members of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Medina died in September after crashing through a fifth-floor window in his dorm. His family has said the death was caused by the drug.
Porrata’s attorney is Thomas Walsh. He says Medina committed suicide and it’s unfair to hold Porrata responsible.
