Cartoonist Scott Adams — one of the first social commentators to predict President Trump’s electoral victory — now says Kanye West has “ripped a hole in reality.”
The man behind the albums like “Late Registration” and “Yeezus” shook social media circles over the weekend by endorsing popular conservative YouTube star Candace Owens.
“I love the way Candace Owens thinks,” Mr. West said.
While many websites and pundits were asking whether the artist has been “red pilled” (the term from “The Matrix” now synonymous with a life-altering epiphany), Mr. Adams says the repercussions are far more profound.
“It feels like there’s something big happening,” Mr. Adams said Monday in a Periscope video. “People are breaking out of their mental prisons.”
Mr. West also shared nine clips by Mr. Adams with his 15.6 million followers on Monday.

“He did something that you can rarely see. He actually just altered reality. He just made the entire conservative twittersphere go something like this,” the cartoonist said while titling his head to convey shock.
The cartoonist said that Mr. West’s endorsement of a conservative runs against the grain of the entertainment industry, particularly among those with his level of fame, and may be indicative of a cultural paradigm shift.

“Seven words — and he ripped a hole in reality,” the cartoonist continued while holding up his right and left hands. “Because Kanye is supposed to be over here and Candace is supposed to be over here.”
Mr. West also made media waves in November 2016 when he told an audience in San Jose, California, that he would have voted for Mr. Trump had he decided to exercise his right on Election Day.
Mr. Adams’ “Dilbert” strip is carried by 2,000 newspapers around the world. The author also holds an MBA from UC Berkeley.
