ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - St. Paul police say a 41-year-old man was killed when a man fleeing police crashed into his vehicle.

The Star Tribune reports the 26-year-old suspect suffered noncritical injuries in the late Friday night crash. Police say he was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide.

Officers were called to the scene of a domestic altercation just before midnight. The 911 caller reported that her boyfriend had tried to stab her 14-year-old son with a machete.

Police say an officer responding to the call was nearly struck by the suspect’s vehicle. The suspect crashed into another vehicle just a few blocks away. Police say the man in that vehicle was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
