SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) - Police in Rhode Island are searching for the vandals who stole a memorial plaque honoring a boy who died in an all-terrain vehicle crash.
Loralie Austin says she doesn’t understand why someone would steal the memorial to her son, Brandon. Brandon died in a 2014 ATV crash while visiting his grandparents in South Carolina. The basketball court at Fagan Park in South Kingstown was dedicated to him in 2016.
South Kingstown police believe the memorial was stolen between Mar. 22 and Mar. 27.
Austin says the memorial means everything to her family and that they want it back.
Police are asking anyone who has information about the missing plaque to contact the South Kingstown Police Department.
