VAN BUREN, Ark. (AP) - A county in northwest Arkansas has approved pay raises for elected officials and county employees.

The Southwest Times Record reports that the Crawford County raises include $4,000 per elected official, $2,000 per full-time employee and $1,000 per part-time employee.

The Crawford County Quorum Court approved the pay increases on Monday. County Judge Dennis Gilstrap says they’ll go into effect the first full pay period after the approval.

Crawford County Treasurer Beverly Pyle says the county has about $425,000 “that was rolled back into county coffers.” She says that the county also has about $100,000 from a steady increase in tax collections and fees.
