SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The 2017 tax return of U.S. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers shows an adjusted gross income of $211,795, and her family paid $26,638 in federal taxes.

McMorris Rodgers released her latest tax return on Wednesday, saying the move was intended restore trust and confidence in government.

After deductions, McMorris Rodgers and her husband had taxable income of $141,782, and got a refund of $5,892.

McMorris Rodgers is a member of House leadership and is seeking an eighth term. She and her husband Brian reported $155,500 in her wages, about $53,600 from his pension as a retired Navy aviator and $3,839 in dividends.

Democratic challenger Lisa Brown has said she plans to release her 2017 return.
