LONDON (AP) - Chelsea wing back Marcos Alonso could miss the FA Cup semifinals after being charged with violent conduct following a challenge on Southampton striker Shane Long in a Premier League game.

The incident in the first half of Saturday’s match at St. Mary’s was not seen by the referee but was caught on video and Alonso has been charged retrospectively.

He could be banned for three games.

Southampton manager Mark Hughes was unhappy Alonso was not sent off for the challenge. Chelsea came from two goals down to win 3-2, with all three goals coming in an eight-minute span in the second half. Alonso set up the first goal.

Chelsea plays Burnley in the league on Thursday and Southampton in the FA Cup semifinals at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
