FLINT, Mich. (AP) - The National Weather Service says the recent wintry weather helped the city of Flint set a seasonal snowfall record.

MLive.com reports an inch (2.5 centimeters) of sleet fell over the weekend at Bishop International Airport, bringing the snowfall total for the 2017-2018 season to 84.5 inches (214.6 centimeters).

The previous record for Flint was 83.9 inches (213 centimeters) in the 2013-2014 season.

More snow is in the forecast this week in Flint, so the total for the 2017-2018 season could continue to rise.
