OPINION:
Nancy Pelosi has sent out some strange fundraisers in recent days — fundraisers that in short, seem to show her age.
Why?
She’s pleading for money based on President Donald Trump’s firing of special counsel Robert Mueller.
Only thing is: Trump has no intention of firing Robert Mueller.
Talk about skewing the truth.
Here’s what Pelosi’s fundraising email stated in the subject line, according to the Washington Free Beacon: “Mueller FIRED.”
And then her message went on to read, “President Trump is inches away from firing Robert Mueller and derailing the entire Russia investigation,” Fox News reported.
Umm … not?
Trump has said repeatedly he has no plans to fire Mueller. The members of mainstream media, on the other hand, have done all they could to show otherwise — to drum a beat of Trump running from Mueller as a way of “proving” Trump’s running from truth.
But here’s the latest from Trump, via Twitter: “If I wanted to fire Robert Mueller in December, as reported by the Failing New York Times, I would have fired him. Just more Fake News from a biased newspaper!”
In other words: Trump’s not firing Mueller.
Pelosi, now 78, is apparently going blind — and deaf: Trump’s stated the very contents of this email on several separate occasions, too.
She wrote in her fundraiser: “[Republicans are] jeopardizing our democracy, our national security and the safety of every election we hold. Frankly, they can’t be trusted … [Mueller’s] our only hope for justice.”
But what’s needed are Democrats to “protect him,” she went on.
No. What’s needed are truthful tellers in the press to point out the untruths of the left. In this “get Trump at all costs” atmosphere that’s coming from the left, though, that’s probably too much to expect. Don’t hold your breath on that one.
