After a week of stock-market tumult due to fears of President Trump “sparking a trade war with China,” buried in the news of fake presidential scandals recently was that the almighty China has capitulated to our president’s fiery rhetoric — and will cut tariffs on imports into the world’s largest economy. This is yet another monumental victory for Mr. Trump.

During the first presidential debate Mr. Trump excoriated the field of Republican candidates by calling politicians stupid babies, implying his superiority and saying that he would be the true agent of seismic change in Washington.

This latest move (making American products more competitively priced) is of historical significance. This problem with China went back decades and Mr. Trump solved it within 15 months of his inauguration — “without a shot being fired.”

Add to his growing resume of decimating the Islamic State, making North Korea capitulate, and the roaring economy due to his tax-cut plan, and you can see Mr. Trump is on course to forge his way into the top-five list of our nation’s greatest presidents.

It’s almost like he’s feeding off the fake scandals and conspiracies perpetrated by the deep state. A part of me wants them to keep up their nonsense because it seems to serve as his inspiration. But another part wonders what Mr. Trump could really accomplish without all these unnecessary distractions.
