LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The two oldest residence halls at the University of Wyoming could be demolished as early as next summer depending on the results of a housing study and plan.
The Laramie Boomerang reported (https://bit.ly/2wBYcEP ) on Sunday that the more than 50-year-old Hill and Crane halls are vacant for the current academic year.
A housing study and plan is in progress to evaluate the university’s housing and formulate a 10-year improvement schedule. The plan is expected to be completed and presented to the Board of Trustees before the end of this year.
Residence Life Executive Director Eric Webb says the first phase of the plan is expected to call for demolition of the halls to make room for other facilities. He says there’s an excess of capacity in the university’s residence halls.
