OGDEN, Utah (AP) - The Latest on a fast-moving Utah wildfire (all times local):
3:45 p.m.
Officials say at least 900 people will remain evacuated Tuesday night as crews work to contain a wildfire that sped down a canyon north of Salt Lake City.
Weber Fire Department spokesman Brandon Thueson told reporters Tuesday afternoon that officials don’t yet know how the fire started but it has burned at least five homes and caused some damage to many more.
Thueson says the fire has grown to about 2 square miles (5.18 sq. kilometers).
No injuries have been reported.
Weber County officials say they will keep an evacuation center open at Weber State University’s basketball arena Tuesday night until residents are able to return.

Authorities say at least five homes have been destroyed by a fast-moving Utah wildfire that roared down a canyon north of Salt lake City.
More than 1,000 people and two elementary schools were evacuated Tuesday morning as high winds whipped the blaze that started in Weber Canyon and consumed 500 acres (202 hectares).
Parts of two highways were also closed as thick black smoke from the fire rolled over the roadways about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.

A fast-moving Utah wildfire is forcing evacuations at two elementary schools as it roars through foothills north of Salt Lake City.
Authorities emptied South Weber Elementary and Uintah Elementary Tuesday morning as a precaution as high winds spread the fire that started in Weber Canyon.
More than 1,000 people have also been ordered from their homes in the blaze that’s destroyed three structures, including at least one home.
Parts of two highways were also closed as thick black smoke from the fire rolled over the roadways.

High winds gusting are feeding the brush fire that started Tuesday morning in Weber Canyon.
Thick black smoke has closed U.S. Highway 89 in both directions near the junction with Interstate 84.
Drivers on the highway about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City are being told to take Interstate 15 instead.

Firefighters are battling a brush fire that’s closed a highway in northern Utah.
KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2iXFEu5) that U.S. Highway 89 is closed in both directions near the junction with Interstate 84 as high winds fan the flames that started in Weber Canyon.
Drivers are being told to take Interstate 15 instead, and officials say evacuations could be necessary in Layton.
Authorities say winds are gusting at up to 40 mph at the fire about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City.
