NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a man was struck and killed by a vehicle while trying to cross a parkway in a New York City neighborhood.
Police say the driver of a white SUV was heading north on the Hutchinson River Parkway in the Bronx when the vehicle struck a pedestrian around 8 p.m. Monday and drove off. Emergency services took the unidentified man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The New York City Police Department Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the hit-and-run.
Police are still looking for the driver as of early Tuesday.
