SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Latest on a man killed by police in a confrontation that left two officers injured (all times local):

Salt Lake City Police Chief Mike Brown is identifying a man killed by police in a “violent” struggle that left two officers injured.
Brown said Friday that 39-year-old Michael Bruce Peterson was suspected of going into a downtown salon and grabbing a woman working there.
Brown said someone at the salon called 911 and officers found Peterson in the parking lot of a nearby gas station. Two officers were hurt in the subsequent confrontation that also included attempts to subdue him with a Taser and a baton.
One officer suffered a broken nose, broken ankle and other injuries, while the other had cuts and bruises.
Brown says both have since been released from the hospital, though he declined to give their names. One is on paid administrative leave and the other is on medical leave.

Salt Lake City police say two officers are recovering after they were injured in a confrontation with a trespassing suspect that ended with police killing the man.
KUTV reports (https://bit.ly/2yMS4sL) police say the wounded officers were in stable condition Thursday afternoon, though details of the shooting near a downtown Maverik gas station weren’t immediately released.
Witness John Haglund says the suspect was shot after he beat an officer with his own baton. Haglund says two other officers drew their weapons and fired several shots, killing the man.
