BELLEFONTE, Pa. (AP) - A man and woman accused in the death of a Pennsylvania State University professor who police say was pushed off a cliff at a quarry are set to go on trial.

The Centre Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/2fBDzmI ) a jury trial for 40-year-old George Ishler and 33-year-old Danielle Geier has been scheduled to start Oct. 9 at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte. Ishler and Geier have been charged with murder and conspiracy in connection with Ronald Bettig’s death.

Ishler and Geier are accused of luring Bettig to the quarry in 2016 with a story about harvesting marijuana. Police believe Ishler pushed him while Geier waited in the car with her toddler.

Ishler and Geier had previously filed to have their trials separated before a judge denied the requests.
