SAN DIEGO (AP) - A small plane has crashed near a San Diego airport but the pilot and two passengers escaped with only minor injuries.
The single-engine Cessna went down around 3 a.m. Wednesday in a field east of Brown Field Municipal Airport.
The pilot tells KUSI-TV (https://bit.ly/2xxXN7F ) that he was approaching the field to land when he hit dense fog and lost visibility and control of the plane. The pilot and passengers say the plane flipped twice on landing. It came to rest upside down.
The pilot says he and his passengers live in Tijuana but had taken off from Los Angeles.
