DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Dubuque man to life in prison for a fatal shooting at an eastern Iowa mobile home park.
The Telegraph Herald reports Judge Thomas Bitter issued the mandatory sentence Monday for 21-year-old Tacari T. Minifee. He was convicted in August of first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the death of 21-year-old Collin Brown.
After the hearing, Brown’s father, Charles Brown, told Minifee he forgave him. Brown says everyone makes mistakes, and he added that he hopes Minifee “can find Christ.”
Prosecutors say Minifee was one of three men who broke into Collin Brown’s Key West trailer and killed him in April 2016.
