PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Two 19-year-old men have died in the crash of a small plane in rugged terrain about 30 miles north of Prescott.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s officials say the single-engine Cessna was found during an air search around 1 p.m. Saturday.

Rescue crews on the ground were directed to the crash site and confirmed the men were dead.

The sheriff’s office identified the dead as Spencer Kihlstrom and Jeremiah Linnertz, both of Chino Valley, Arizona.

The pilot of the plane based out of Prescott Airport had not been heard from since Friday.

A sheriff’s office rescue helicopter set out looking for the missing plane and crew members spotted the wreckage several miles east of Paulden near Perkinsville Ranch.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash’s cause.
