NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a woman and her stepmother are accused in connection with a road rage incident that left another woman unconscious on a Florida roadway.

Tampa Bay Times reports the pair was arrested on Wednesday and charged with burglary and aggravated battery.

Authorities say 20-year-old Alicia Nikole Scarduzio and her stepmother, 49-year-old Shelley Lyn Gemberling, argued with and approached the driver of an adjacent vehicle on Tuesday. Gemberling is accused of reaching inside the car’s window and pulling the woman out by her hair and throat.

Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says in an arrest report the woman fell to the ground, and witness video shows the defendants punching the victim several times.

The unidentified driver suffered a broken nose and other injuries. It is unclear if the accused have lawyers.
