BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - After a four-day strike, teachers in Vermont’s largest city and the school board have approved a new, two-year contract.
The Burlington school board says the contract includes a 2.5 percent salary increase in the first year and 2.75 increase in the second year. The district will pay 81 percent of health insurance premiums in 2018 and 80 percent the following year.
School resumed on Wednesday after a tentative agreement was reached late Tuesday. The two sides ratified the contract Wednesday.
The 400 teachers went on strike Sept. 14.
