CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Former U.S. Rep. Cynthia Lummis has ruled out running next year for governor of Wyoming.

Lummis tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle (https://bit.ly/2xiaxwV ) that she had seriously thought to running for governor but ultimately decided that she wanted more personal time and freedom from politics.

However, Lummis says she may seek elected office again sometime down the road.

Lummis served four terms in the U.S. House.

The Republican also served previously in the state Legislature and as state treasurer.

Gov. Matt Mead can’t seek re-election as governor because he is limited to two terms.
