NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a shooting in New Jersey’s largest city has left one man dead and two others injured.

The shots rang out around 7:25 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of South 20th Street of Newark.

Twenty-year-old city resident Alshadeem Green was taken to a hospital but died there a short time later. The two wounded men - identified only as a 20-year-old Irvington resident and a 37-year-old Newark resident - suffered undisclosed injuries and remained hospitalized Tuesday in stable condition.

A motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

No arrests have been made.

Authorities say 44 people have been killed in Newark so far this year.
