WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) - Mike White went 29 of 47 for 236 yards with a touchdown and Marist held off Georgetown 14-12 on Saturday.

Marist (2-1) built at 14-0 lead at halftime on White’s 5-yard scoring toss to David Shannon III and Marcellus Calhoun’s 6-yard touchdown run at the start of the second quarter.

Georgetown made a game of it after intermission. Christian Bermudez ended a seven-play, 50-yard third-quarter drive with a 2-yard touchdown plunge - but the point after attempt was blocked. With just under 5 minutes to play, Tim Barnes found Michael Dereus from 44 yard out, but the two-point conversion failed and Georgetown’s final drive stalled at its own 44 as time expired.

Barnes finished 21 of 40 for 217 yards for the Hoyas (1-1), while Dereus had four catches for 72 yards. Marist limited Georgetown to 45 yards rushing.

Juston Christian led Marist with seven catches for 88 yards.
