AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) - Whole Foods Market is opening its first store in western New York.

The grand opening of the grocer’s suburban Buffalo location in Amherst is scheduled for Friday.

The 50,000-square-foot store will include a 12-tap bar featuring local beers, a coffee and juice bar and dining options including sushi, pizza and salad.

E-commerce giant Amazon recently bought the natural and organic Whole Foods chain, based in Texas, in a $13.7 billion deal.
