ASHBURN – After ending a contract holdout over the weekend, Rams star defensive tackle Aaron Donald returned to practice in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and is expected to play Sunday.
For the Redskins, an already difficult task in blocking the Rams’ defensive front would be much tougher with Donald in the lineup.
“I mean I wish he would have held out another week,” joked left tackle Trent Williams. “But that’s the life in the NFL nowadays. Everybody has these D-lines who are souped up. We’ve got to bring our hard hat, it’s going to be a tough one.”
After Donald practiced Wednesday, Los Angeles coach Sean McVay said that he anticipates Donald will play, and start, Sunday.
Donald had eight sacks, five passes defensed and made the Pro Bowl last year. Donald is the centerpiece of a defense that has plenty of other effective pass rushers, including Robert Quinn and Connor Barwin.
