PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Air National Guard personnel are in the U.S. Virgin Islands to assist with the response to Hurricane Irma.

The Air Guard says about a dozen aerial port specialists will work with other personnel to establish an aerial port to receive aid.

A Missouri Air National Guard C-130 transported flew the Arizona personnel to the Virgin Islands from Goldwater Air National Guard personnel on Tuesday.

The deployment follows Arizona’s sending of approximately 50 Army National Guard personnel to Texas along with four helicopters to respond to Hurricane Harvey.

Those personnel have now returned to Arizona.
