SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say they are investigating the death of a woman found in the Sacramento River last week as homicide.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2xY7EAl) the woman was identified as 30-year-old Emilina Quintero, of West Sacramento.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to a call from a fisherman on Sept. 4 saying he had found a woman in the water.

Officials recovered the body near Isleton and were not able to immediately identify the woman.

The news release does not say what led investigators to conclude that Quintero was a homicide victim.

The department says it has not identified a suspect nor a motive.
