LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man has been charged with the DUI death of a woman who was hit by a car while walking to her job at Disney in Burbank.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office says Stergios Economos of Burbank was charged Monday with gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of a drug.

It’s unclear whether the 37-year-old Economos has an attorney.

Prosecutors say Economos ran a red light Thursday, ran over 64-year-old Michelle Ann Landes while she was in a crosswalk and then hit a car. Landes was killed while the driver of the other car was seriously injured.

Landes was an executive legal assistant at Disney.

Economos faces more than 11 years in state prison if convicted. Prosecutors are recommending his bail be set at $1 million.
