ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - Atlantic City will pay $3 million to settle an excessive-force lawsuit brought by a man who was seriously injured during a 2013 arrest outside a city casino.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/2wSD5yk) reported the agreement Sunday.

A lawyer for David Castellani says the Linwood man needed more than 200 stitches to close wounds he received when a police dog bit him. He was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and other charges, but eventually was allowed to enter a pre-trial program over the objections of Atlantic County prosecutors.

A grand jury reviewed the arrest and cleared the officers of any wrongdoing.
