FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - The News-Sentinel of Fort Wayne is publishing a special final edition Saturday as it ceases publication and converts primarily to an online outlet.
The News-Sentinel has been Fort Wayne’s afternoon newspaper under a business partnership with the Journal Gazette morning newspaper. The News-Sentinel says its final edition will include a 64-page commemorative section including historic front pages.
The News-Sentinel will have designated pages produced by its staffers that will be included within the Journal Gazette’s printed editions starting Monday while focusing more on its digital content.
The decision to end the afternoon edition was announced in August. The News-Sentinel’s history includes winning the Pulitzer Prize for local reporting for its coverage of severe flooding that hit Fort Wayne in 1982.
