GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A former Wyoming psychotherapist accused of using his position of authority to have sex with two of his patients has pleaded no contest to two counts of second-degree sexual assault.

The Gillette News Record reports https://goo.gl/udSiVf 33-year-old Joshua Popkin struck a deal with prosecutors and entered his plea Thursday. He is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 11.

Under a no-contest plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges that prosecutors may have enough evidence to convict.

One of Popkin’s accusers told investigators he preyed on her, worked his way into her head and used things that he knew about her in order to sleep with her.

He worked as a psychologist with Campbell County Health from Nov. 2, 2015, to May 25, 2016.
