GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) - Birthday celebrations call for birthday cakes.

The University of North Carolina Greensboro is celebrating its birthday. So the school’s executive pastry chef is baking a cake.

The school is 125 years old. So the cake is 125 feet (38 meters) long.

Actually, the cake is 65 separate 2-foot (0.6-meter) sheet cakes. The icing will make it look like one giant cake.

It’s taken two days to bake the 65 smaller cakes. They are being trucked to the school’s Quad where they will be iced and decorated. The cake is being covered with more than 60 edible pictures from the university’s past.

The cake itself is a standard vanilla sheet cake covered in white icing. It’s being trimmed in the school colors of blue and yellow.
