JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - American Airlines has announced that starting next spring it will be offering a direct flight to Dallas from the Jackson Hole Airport during the offseason.

The Jackson Hole News And Guide reported (https://bit.ly/2y3rjSA ) Thursday that currently, the airport only has two direct connections to Denver and Salt Lake City during the slow shoulder seasons.

With American Airlines announcement, the Jackson Hole Airport will now have three carriers throughout the year making more international destinations reachable with only one layover for area residents.

Officials say American Airlines made their decision to service the airport during the spring and fall without any financial incentives.

The upcoming American Airlines aircraft will seat 68 passengers and will offer once-daily flights to and from Dallas.

Prices for flights have yet to be announced.
