LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Latest on a stolen sheriff’s SUV in Los Angeles (all times local):

8:20 a.m.

Authorities say a man suspected of stealing a sheriff’s department SUV was shot and wounded as he led deputies on a wild pursuit through the suburbs of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says Tuesday morning at least one deputy opened fire and the suspect was shot and wounded. The unidentified man was being treated for his wounds.

Nishida says deputies first encountered the man during a disturbance call at the Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. She says the man had been running around outside the medical center when he jumped into the patrol vehicle and drove off.

He sped through several intersections with the vehicle’s emergency lights flashing and at one point stopped and backed the SUV into another sheriff’s vehicle before speeding off again.

He later pulled over and surrendered.
