BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota’s longtime state budget director is calling it a career.
Gov. Doug Burgum says Office of Management and Budget Director Pam Sharp will retire at the end of November, though she will help out on a temporary basis through the transition to a new leader. A national search is underway.
Sharp was appointed OMB director by then-Gov. John Hoeven in 2003, and later reappointed by Govs. Jack Dalrymple and Burgum. Before that she spent five years as deputy director and about six years as a budget analyst. She’s been in state government for 31 years.
Burgum says Sharp has done an exceptional job managing the state’s budget during both prosperous and lean times.
