SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The former emergency services director for Carbon County accused of using federal grant money for personal purchases was sentenced to six months in federal prison and one year of supervised released.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported Monday that 47-year-old Jason Llewelyn will also have to pay about $65,000 in restitution.

Llewelyn was accused of taking funds from U.S. Department of Homeland Security grants to buy personal items for his houseboat, armory, aircraft and other interests.

He admitted at a July plea hearing to using his county credit card between December 2011 and August 2015 to make unauthorized purchases totaling more than $5,000.

The federal Bureau of Prisons will determine where Llewelyn will serve his sentence.
