TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Two groups representing nursing homes and assisted living facilities want a Florida appeals court to block the actions of the administration of Gov. Rick Scott.

LeadingAge Florida and Florida Argentum filed a motion Tuesday with the 1st District Court of Appeal. The groups maintain that the Scott administration is keeping in place new generator rules even though a judge ruled against the administration last week.

Steve Bahmer, president and CEO of LeadingAge Florida, said the agencies under the governor are causing confusion among nursing homes.

Scott wants nursing homes and assisted living facilities to have generators capable of providing backup power for four days.

The governor sought the rules after residents at the Rehabilitation Center at Hollywood Hills died after Hurricane Irma wiped out power to much of South Florida.
