MEDIA, Pa. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a former volunteer firefighter to confinement after he pleaded guilty to intentionally starting a fire inside a Pennsylvania firehouse.

The Delaware County Daily Times (https://bit.ly/2fHwvkT ) reports that 19-year-old Javier McMillan was sentenced Monday to 24 days of time served, with the rest of his five to 23 months sentence to be served on electronic home monitoring.

McMillan was arrested in June after authorities said he acknowledged setting a fire inside the Parkside Fire Co. in April. Detectives say a stuffed chair inside a TV room was ignited.

Court documents indicate a fire company trustee said McMillan was aware that trustees were planning to remove him due to undisclosed issues in the firehouse.

Fire Marshal Rob Powers says the fire caused about $225,000 damage.
