ORONO, Maine (AP) - Josh Mack rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown, Chris Ferguson passed for 192 and another score but defense aided Maine’s 23-6 defeat of William & Mary on Saturday for a third-straight win.

Maine (4-3, 3-3 Colonial Athletic Association) fumbled its opening drive but, after the Tribe had taken the turnover to a third-and-goal at the 13, Maine’s Darrius Hart intercepted Shon Mitchell’s pass into the end zone. William & Mary (2-6, 0-5) was held to 199 yards of offense and a field goal in each half.

Brandon Briggs kicked field goals of 19 and 43 yards as the Black Bears rallied to a 6-0 lead. Ferguson found Drew Belcher with a 9-yard TD pass and a 13-3 halftime lead. Mack pushed the lead to 20-6 with a 2-yard score early in the fourth quarter and Briggs capped the scoring with a 23-yard field goal. The Black Bears were 4 of 5 in the red zone.
