OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Several hundred city of Oklahoma City employees have returned to a seven-story building in the downtown area after it was evacuated when workers on at least two floors reported difficulty breathing, dizziness and headaches.
City spokeswoman Kristy Yager says employees in the city’s finance and information technology departments returned to the building about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, about 1½ hours after being forced to leave.
Yager said three people were taken to a hospital in undisclosed condition for treatment after the building was evacuated. Oklahoma City District Fire Chief Benny Fulkerson says 16 other people were treated at the scene.
Fulkerson said the cause of the illnesses has not been determined, but testing found no natural gas or carbon monoxide and no unnatural odors were detected in the building.
