You may think some on the left have no shame, but you have to admit they do have transparency. Here’s “Turn: Washington’s Spies” actress Heather Lind. In an Instagram, she said former President George H.W. Bush, 93, “sexually assaulted” her by touching her derrière, during a photo-op in Houston, while he was in the wheelchair to which he has been confined for the last five years.

Hollywood males rushed to support Miss Lind in her time of deep anguish.

Deadline Hollywood reported that ” ’Turn’ co-star and Pirates of the Caribbean actor Kevin McNally tweeted, ’My full support for @heatherglind for speaking out about the horrible event in Houston. All of which is true…’ Author of Washington Spies, the book on which Turn is based also tweeted saying, ’@heatherglind & ex-Pres. Bush, her account is 100% accurate. I was there. It was not a ’joke’ gone awry.’ The official Turn account also chimed in, tweeting, ’Sexual assault is always about abusing power over their victims. The fact that this has been politicized is avoiding the real issue.’ “

No, it is the real issue.

Comparing a pat on the rear to what Harvey Weinstein did to dozens of women is more than a bum rap, so to speak. It’s Hollywood lowlifes attempting to change the subject from rapes and sexual intimidation by the Hollywood’s most powerful leftists to a very elderly former Republican president in a wheelchair seeming to cop a feel and telling a “dirty joke.” Yes, New York actress Jordana Grolnick read what Miss Lind said and decided to come forward with her own sad tale. Miss Grolnick told the on-line magazine Deadspin that Mr. Bush touched her behind during a Maine photo-op last year.

Here’s how Deadspin reported her harrowing experience with the former president and his wife: “We all circled around him and Barbara [Bush] for a photo, and I was right next to him,” Grolnick said. “He reached his right hand around to my behind, and as we smiled for the photo he asked the group, ’Do you want to know who my favorite magician is?’ “

“As I felt his hand dig into my flesh, he said, ’David Cop-a-Feel!’

Whoa. Can you imagine how shocked, shamed, embarrassed, outraged and violated a Hollywood actress with tender nunnery-schooled ears would feel on hearing so dirty a joke?

And oh, by the way, what prompted Miss Lind to suddenly post on Instagram her recollection of that horrific assault from a while back? She said she saw a picture of former President Barack Obama making nice with Mr. Bush and it dawned on her that while she respects Mr. Obama, she doesn’t respect Mr. Bush.

It would be wrong even to let the idea cross your mind that all this is transparently political. Wrong to think for one moment that maybe Harvey Weinstein paid these women and their male friends to attack Mr. Bush. There is not a shred of evidence for that. It would be just as wrong even to let yourself think that Miss Lind and Miss Grolnick spontaneously spit out their verbal assaults on a 93-year-old, wheelchair-confined former Republican president out of loyalty to the Democratic party or, as our present president might put it, to that loser and never-president Hillary Clinton.

But then I have no power over what crosses your mind.
