President Trump has been warned that Fox News Channel’s upcoming “The Ingraham Angle” may “irk” him.
Radio host and author Laura Ingraham will launch her new show next week at 10 p.m. EDT, but she says the president may be rubbed the wrong way by its content.
“You know, he’ll probably be irked,” the conservative pundit said for a New York Times interview published Wednesday. “We are friends, but friends tell friends when they go off course. And I’m sure he’ll tell me when he thinks I’m deviating from what’s proper and thoughtful. And I’ll do the same with him.”
Ms. Ingraham, 53, went on to describe her support for the president’s agenda and the kind of viewers she plans to bring to Fox. Her goal is to address parenting issues, technology’s role in shaping civil society, and the “pornified culture that our children are marinating in.”
“[I can represent] the working-class, populist sensibility that is the beating heart of the Republican party right now,” she told the newspaper. “I hope that a lot of the men and women who feel forgotten in this country really see that they have in me a champion.”
“This is about the movement,” she added. “Trump is invaluable — he’s the titular head of the movement. But it’s like with George W. Bush. I campaigned for him in 2004, and by the end of it, I wasn’t invited to any of the White House events.”
In addition to radio-hosting duties on “The Laura Ingraham Show,” Ms. Ingraham serves as editor in chief of the website Lifezette.
