OPINION:
The nation mourned, the law enforcement investigated, President Donald Trump, his wife and his White House prayed — and Hillary Clinton called for gun control and attacks on the National Rifle Association.
That’s the response to the horrific killings of dozens and injuring of hundreds by gunman Stephen Paddock, 64.
Hillary: This is why you lost.
Politics, to Clinton, is everything.
She tweeted: “Las Vegas, we are grieving with you — the victims, those who lost loved ones, the responders, & all affected by this cold-blooded massacre.”
But apparently — not grieving so much that a little politicking and pandering can’t be done.
In a series of tweets, Clinton then went on the gun control march.
“[America] must put politics aside [and] stand up the NRA,” she wrote.
And this: “The crowd fled at the sound of gunshots. Imagine the deaths if the shooter had a silencer, which the NRA wants to make easier to get.”
And this: “Our grief isn’t enough. We can and must put politics aside, stand up to the NRA and work together to try to stop this from happening again.”
Unbelievable.
Clinton couldn’t even wait for the bodies to be buried — or, even carted from the scene, in some cases — to take up attack-dog stance and go after the NRA, the Republicans, and gun owners.
You know it’s bad when even Barack Obama, one of the most tone-deaf presidents to take over the White House, nonetheless tweeted this: “Michelle & i are praying for the victims in Las Vegas. Our thoughts are with their families & everyone enduring another senseless tragedy.”
Hillary, bluntly — this is why you lost the White House. You haven’t a clue about appropriate versus inappropriate. You haven’t a beat of warm blood in your heart.
