ATLANTA (AP) - Atlanta police have recovered a vehicle stolen during an armed robbery of a city councilman and a city council candidate.

News outlets report candidate Andrea Boone and Councilman C.T. Martin were robbed at gunpoint outside Boone’s southwest Atlanta campaign headquarters Saturday night.

Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos says a man approached them, and demanded money and their car keys. Martin and Boone handed over personal belongings, cash, credit cards and keys. The suspect drove off in a rented 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. No one was injured.

WXIA-TV reports that police say the car was recovered Sunday in northwest Atlanta. It was unoccupied. No further details have been released.

Martin has served as an Atlanta city councilman since 1990, and is running for city council president. Boone is running for his seat.
