BOSTON (AP) - The unemployment rate in Massachusetts has once again dipped below 4 percent.
The Office of Labor and Workforce Development said Thursday that preliminary estimates show the state added about 9,300 jobs in September while the overall jobless rate dropped to 3.9 percent from 4.2 percent the previous month.
The U.S. unemployment rate stood at 4.2 percent in September.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that Massachusetts has gained more than 62,000 jobs over the past 12 months.
