DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (AP) - Firefighters made quick work of early morning brush fires in eastern Los Angeles County along the northbound side of State Route 57.

The county Fire Department says the fires are 100 percent contained Wednesday morning and the cause is under investigation.

Multiple starts were reported and ended up as two fires of 10 acres (4 hectares) and 4 acres (1½ hectares) in grassy hills.

No structures were threatened but morning rush hour traffic was halted on the northbound side of the highway.

Just north of Los Angeles, firefighters also halted a brush fire ignited by a burning big-rig on Interstate 5.

The Angeles National Forest says a fire that erupted early Tuesday on Mount Wilson above LA’s eastern foothill suburbs is holding at 30 acres and is 25 percent contained.
