ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Brazilian soccer star Kaka has announced he will not re-sign with Orlando City.
Kaka said Wednesday that he will play his final game with the Orlando City Lions on Sunday when they host the Columbus Crew at Orlando City Stadium. The soccer superstar’s contract with the Lions is up after this season, but he has decided to move on after three seasons with the club.
An international star, Kaka joined the Lions prior to their first MLS season in 2015 to much fanfare. He has been a huge draw for the club, especially in their first season playing at Orlando City Stadium.
The 35-year-old has not indicated that he plans to retire, which leaves open the possibility of playing in his native Brazil.
